9/7/2026 0 Comments Whitnash Fun Day - 4th July Many moons ago, I was invited to attend the Whitnash Fun Day to participate on an author panel. The day was a local community event focused around the civic centre in Whitnash, which houses the local library. I was asked to join a discussion panel of four author: me, Sarah Whitton, Sue Law and Penny Batchelor to be interviewed by Aimee Hawkins, the reader development librarian of Warwickshire. The sun was shining, the venue perfect and the marquee brimming with an audience eager to her our stories! Aimee was full of questions which allowed us authors to express our opinions on reading habits, our backstory as authors and snippets of how we create a book from that glimmer of imagination! It was a beautiful summer afternoon, where the ice cream van was a welcome visit and the questions asked unfurled lots about each author and their inspiration. I had a wonderful afternoon spent amongst other authors, my imagination was ignited by the answers they gave which unknowingly touched my story. I came home, grateful that authors are so honest about the what, where, and why we write … it feels like touching base for what we actually do.
