eYesterday was fabulous! I love publications days as I get to celebrate the birth of a new book, answer wonderful 'best wishes' messages sent via social media and receive fresh flower from my publishing team. I also get to enjoy the reaction of the early bird readers who are book bloggers and reviewers who receive an early industry arc.
Book 11 is out in the big wide world - I can't quite believe it!
It's a long day. I stayed awake till midnight 20th July to watch my ebook download come through as that enables me to breathe that the electronic process has worked. I always fear it won't. I then slept before rising at about five o'clock. I began the day by creating a prize draw for a signed book copy in my 'Erin Green Readers' group' on FaceBook. I wanted the prize draw to appear on the readers devices first thing so they could participate, if they wished. I then began replying to the social media messages - I always thank everyone who retweets my publication post or leaves a message. There were many glorious messages.
The only 'blip' to my day was a new book reviewer who received a free arc copy and posted her 'one star' review on Amazon and Goodreads. She disliked it so much she couldn't read past the opening chapter - seven pages! In fact she hated it so much she logged another 'one star' rating again on Goodreads the very next day too! I wonder why? Authors know. Hey ho, I don't let such things worry me. My writing isn't everyone's cup of tea. The lower ratings give kudos to the five stars! See, I'm always honest about my publishing journey, but this is why I share, so it doesn't come as a surprise.
Due to my convalescence, I couldn't go out to celebrate so I made the most of being at home - there were bubbles galore! My day ended at midnight, just as it had begun, with a very happy author.
